Talk after the afterglow

What was the aha-moment in your life,( to join) to get a musician?

NICK (keys): When I was a kid I use to bang and hit on everything, so my mother put me in drum-school at a very early age. But later I discovered Duran Duran and saw Nick Rhodes behind the keyboards and thought he looked so cool, that was my turning point.

JOHAN (vocals, git): I really didn´t have any aha-moment back then, it just happened.
But I get aha-moments when some really great band stuff happens today,
like “Oh, it is really cool to be in a band!”.

Imagine, you would reach with your music really all places of this whole planet, which message you would bring in music to the mankind?

JOHAN: “Look how hard my life is, you low-life people!” haha…
no really, more like “Take it easy, enjoy your life” I think…

NICK: Have fun….and let go of all kind of religions, they only create bad things in the end, like war and stuff…

What do you think about the current music process: less (physical) CD’s and more change into download-distribution?

JOHAN: Since I grew up with vinyl-albums, and I remember when a friend came with the first CD in the neighbourhood, it is boring to see it all disappear, but the times are changing and we just have to adapt to it.

The Exploding Boy

NICK: As a band you earn less money from digital downloads than you get for a physical product, but on the other hand digital downloads is spread more easily and more people can get access to the music..
JOHAN: Yes, the good thing is of course that it is easy to send to people, and spread it.
NICK: But in general I´m against downloading.

How important are in your opinion Fan- and Underground-Zines for the music-scene?

JOHAN: I think they are very important. It is a basic information source that is close to the
people and easy to get.
NICK: Off course they are important, all kinds of media are important.

Which who you would like once to share the stage or the studio?

NICK: Well, at the moment we have Dr.Avalanche from The Sisters Of Mercy in the studio…haha!
I would love to do a show with Adam Ant, dressed as a pirate.
JOHAN: The Cure would be nice of course.
But since we haven’t had a gig for a while I would like to share a stage with my “X-boys” pretty soon…

Thanx again for this interview, the last words are like always yours!:

JOHAN:See you some day in Leipzig, one of our favourite cities in Germany.
NICK: Thank you all for listening, reading and watching!
JOHAN: And thanks for a bit of different questions….
